Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy ®

Ashiatsu - (ashi means foot and atsu means pressure).

Ashiatsu is an ancient form of bodywork using deep compression from the feet to bring about a structural change in chronic soft tissue damage. It provides deep relaxation and stimulates the body's lymphatic system. It is highly effective for low back conditions, and for clients who feel they just can't find a therapist that can give them enough pressure. It is the deepest, most luxurious massage on the planet!!

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep-tissue massage is a specific type of massage therapy that concentrates on the deep layers of muscle and fascia in the body. By using deep pressure and slow, firm strokes, deep tissue massage is used to treat a variety of physical ailments. Many doctors recommend deep-tissue massage to their patients as a treatment option because of its benefits.

Rehabilitates Injured Muscles.

Hot Stone Therapy

This is an age old therapy dating back 5000 years to India. They discovered that heat relaxes muscles, allowing manipulation of a greater intensity than with regular massage. The warmer stones expand the blood vessels, pushing blood and unwanted waste materials through the body. This has a sedative effect on the nervous system. Stone massage makes you feel deeply relaxed, allowing you to let go of all the stress that is held within your body. The hot stones have a tendency to relax the muscles and draw out muscle pain and discomfort. Those experiencing a hot stone massage will notice a healing improvement of the following symptoms: muscular aches, pains, sprains, and strains, poor circulation, rheumatic and arthritic conditions, fibromyalgia, MS, back pain, stress, anxiety and tension, insomnia and depression.

Myofascial massage

Myofascial massage is a technique used by therapists to treat sporting injuries, reducing pain and increasing range of motion. Myofascial release differs from other kinds of massage in that it targets the fascia, the membrane surrounding muscles, rather than the muscle itself. Fascia is responsible for body structure and protecting internal organs, and it plays an important role in the process of tissue repair. As a membrane completely encasing every muscle in the body, restrictions in the fascia can have grave effects on range of motion. While other forms of massage can overlook the fascia, myofascial massage focuses specifically on releasing tension in this important membrane. Neuromuscular Massage

Neuromuscular Massage is a form of deep tissue massage that is applied to individual muscles. It is used to increase blood flow, reduce pain and release pressure on nerves caused by injuries to muscles and other soft tissue. Neuromuscular massage helps release trigger points, intense knots of tense muscle can also "refer" pain to other parts of the body. Relieving a tense trigger point in your back, for example, could help ease pain in your shoulder or reduce headaches.

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is a special form of massage and is typically used before, during, and after athletic events. The purpose of the massage is to prepare the athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries. The main purpose of sports massage therapy is to help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissues during physical activity. Where minor injuries and lesions occur, due to overexertion and/or overuse, massage can break them down quickly and effectively. The massage will help prepare the athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries. Sports massage can help prevent those niggling injuries that so often get in the way of performance and achievement, whether a person is an athlete or a once a week jogger.

Swedish Massage

Was developed in the 1700's by a Swedish doctor named Per Henrik Ling. The term "Swedish Massage" refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart. Swedish massage techniques include: long strokes, kneading, friction, tapping, percussion, vibration, effleurage, and shaking motions.
